It’s already June and I have two weddings to share. I had the opportunity to paint Muriel and Moe’s wedding on May 1, 2016 & then Abby and Steve’s wedding on June 4, 2016! Two gorgeous brides and their handsome grooms, each reception was elegant and stylish, full of friends and family, with delicious food and fun music.
Muriel and Moe’s wedding and reception were held at 3109 Piedmont Estate and Gardens. It was a beautiful location and perfectly decorated!
As with each of my weddings or other live painting events, I arrived about 1-1 1/2 hours before the event to set up and begin laying in the background. I have already prepped the canvas (in this case painting it a yellow ochre color) and wired the back so that it can be hung when dry. By the time the guests arrive, I have the layout complete and I am ready to add them in! I also like to include special details: the wedding cake, the flowers, the architecture of the venue (I especially wanted to include the gorgeous chandelier!). The main thing, though, is capturing the bride and groom, in this case, during their first dance as a married couple!
The June wedding, Abby & Steve, was equally gorgeous! The reception was held at the Capital City Club, downtown, and was lovely with pink roses and white hydrangeas!
The challenge of this venue was the lighting! But, even so, I feel like the painting was a success and captured the beautiful evening and the loving couple.
Wishing both couples a lifetime of happiness and blessing!
