I painted this painting of the giant tortoise at the zoo during their plein air week, Art Gone Wild, the first week in June. I had been trying to capture birds and lemurs, so I was excited to paint an animal that tended to stay in one place! These giant tortoises are in front of the new reptile house at the zoo.
